Pastor Steve is a recent graduate of Colorado Christian University. While MBC is the first church to call him as Pastor, he has 20 years of lay church leadership including teaching adult, youth, and college Sunday schools, in home small group college ministry, and has served in many leadership roles on church boards. He seeks to bring glory to God in all he does. His life verse is 2 Timothy 2:15, and over the last 20 years he has sought to rightly divide that word of truth. He and His wife Allison have been married for 20 years and have 4 children: Triplets Anabel, Reuben, and Matthew (7), and Joshua (3). Pastor Steve wants you to know that all are welcome, and encourages you to be willing to allow the Lord to change you.
Tom manages the weekly pledges from members of the congregation. Additionally, Tom performs critical tasks in and around the church to help operations to run smoothly.
Tom is very active in his local community serving as the Salvation Army bell ringing coordinator through the Lion's Club.
RALPH OLNEY III
Ralph has attended MBC for 35 years and serves as our church's Treasurer. He manages the church's accounts making sure our finances are sound. With the support of his wife, Bev, Ralph has served over 70 five-day rounds of chemotherapy since July 2011 in his fight again leukemia. Ralph believes that the power of prayer has brought him through his journey of battling cancer. He credits God and his wife with his continuing success.
Kaitlyn has been attending MBC for her
whole life and she currently serves as the
church's secretary. She keeps the
bulletins, newsletters, website, and other
church property up-to-date. In addition
to her position as secretary, Kaitlyn also
sings in the church's choir. She
periodically accompanies the services by playing the flute, and also served as the former musician from 2005 until 2008. Kaitlyn teaches middle school math at Kendall Central School.
Marilynn has been attending MBC
for 30 years and currently serves
as the church's clerk. She maintains the church membership rolls, takes
the minutes from the board
meetings, and is the church historian.
Marilynn has also served
faithfully in the church choir for
As the head trustee, Gary takes the concerns of the congregation and brings them before the board of trustees. He also handles any maintenance issues the church may experience from time to time. Gary has been attending MBC for 17 years.
Carolyn serves as the church's Head Deacon. She oversees the other Deacons and is responsible for the distribution of Holy Communion. She also helps to coordinate the layout of church tapestries and other decorations. Carolyn has been attending MBC for 17 years.
Andrew has been attending
MBC for 17 years and serves as their pianist and musician. He began this job at the age of 13 shortly before his public Baptism. In addition to helping with church
social functions throughout the
years, he helps to lead the church in musical worship faithfully every Sunday. His wife, Natalie, serves in the choir. Andrew obtained his certificate in paralegal studies and his goal is to one day serve as an attorney at law.
Dan serves as our church's sexton, maintaining the church so that it is ready for worship every Sunday and also teaches the younger class for Sunday school each week. His wife, Angela, serves in the choir, and their family has been attending the church for several years.
COUNTRY MOUSE NURSERY SCHOOL COORDINATOR
Diane is the coordinator, administrator, and teacher at the Country Mouse Nursery School at MBC. She has taught there for over 25 years. She is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo, and completed her graduate work at SUNY Brockport. She is certified to teach nursery school through sixth grade, and has specialized in Early Childhood Education.
Lisa serves as the Music Director and provides all of the music for each Sunday service. Lisa also picks out holiday cantatas to perform at Easter and Christmas. She helps the Deacons to display our seasonal banners as well as decorations and flower arrangements to add to the beauty of the sanctuary and dining hall. Lisa has served MBC for 39 years.
Brad leads the MBC Youth Group.
It has grown in size and
currently has 15-20 kids. Brad
teaches them about Christ
and makes it his goal to
foster an atmosphere of
openness and love towards
all of the children and teenagers. Brad has filled in as our church's minister when vacancies arise. He is looked up to in the church as an established father, mentor, and spiritual leader. Brad is vital to Morton Baptist church in many ways and has been coming with his wife and kids for many years.
Kathy has been involved in Morton Baptist Church for decades. She grew up and went to school here in the community. She serves in the Kitchen at MBC and provides fresh coffee and refreshments to the congregation each week. She keeps the kitchen spotless and is always keeping the congregation up to date on ill members, shut-ins, and the elderly people from our church.
