We are a small country church with a big heart for serving our God and our community.
Where We Are Now
Morton Baptist Church has always been socially active as a church and in the community. There are many traditions that continue today. Fundraising dinners are still held in the spring and fall. Christmas is celebrated with a cantata on Christmas Eve. The CURE picnic, which was a one-time event in 1982 continues today as a fun day of activities for families of children with cancer. The Country Mouse Nursery School has been a welcome part of our church family since 1975. We have donated time and money to local food pantries, CareNet, Christmas Child Shoebox ministry and many other missions. Ecumenical participation includes Vacation Bible School and a summer community church service held outdoors at the Kendall gazebo.
We are a congregation that appreciates traditional worship and music. Many of our members have attended Morton Baptist all their lives. We have a small but effective choir that sings the old favorites as well as more contemporary pieces, many times accompanied by other musicians from the congregation.
We have a very active youth group who keep busy with Christian activities and outreach.

We, the members of this Church, realizing the grace of God, humbly and solemnly undertake, with God’s aid:
We enter into this covenant inspired by God’s love. We pray for Divine Guidance and help in fulfilling this covenant.
- To cultivate by prayer and meditation a life of devotion and consecration to God and to our Savior, Jesus Christ;
- To attend the worship and services of the Church regularly, using them for the edification of our souls;
- To contribute according to our ability, to the financial support of the work of this Church and its beneficent activities;
- To aid and assist prayerfully, loyally, and affectionately, the Pastor.
- To maintain in all our relationships with our fellow members an attitude of spiritual integrity, sympathy, and love;
- To cooperate with interest and earnestness in the redemptive, missionary, and social tasks of the Kingdom of God.
- To aspire in our private lives to character and conduct that shall be approved by God and our conscience;
- To order the life of our homes so that they may be truly Christian and dwelling places of God.
- To conduct ourselves in our social and business actions in accordance with the principles of Jesus Christ.
- To share in the extension of God’s kingdom.
We enter into this covenant inspired by God’s love. We pray for Divine Guidance and help in fulfilling this covenant.
Statement of Faith
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
-Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV
-Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV
The bible says that faith is a gift of God and the instrument through which God gives eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-10). Morton Baptist Church believes that it is the job of the Church to live by faith for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ so that the whole world may see the light of Christ shining through us by our speech, temperament, and actions.
